Well done! I enjoyed the blog – it brought back lots of memories of my own epic on the GR5 in 1992.

Planning on doing the GR52A in Provence this year – getting a bit old for the Big Ones in the real Alps! Should cross the GR5 at St Sauveur sur Tinee – nice town.

When we travelled Africa in 1992 everyone said that Asia was WAY more modern than Africa or India. THat was what all the travellers said. Perhaps part of what you are noticing is the Asian effect?

Looking for some new photos of you two. did you take any of the eleflumps? Would have loved to see you atop the beasts. It sounds so wonderful, but then I wonder how I would have mounted the beasts. It seems like you needed lots of muscle to get atop of them.

Thanks for the note. Great to hear from you. We had a wonderful vacation. No snow yet but they are calling for it on Friday. Still trying to sell the house and finish the other. I read Richard’s blog which was very entertaining! It is so fun to live vicariously through your adventure.

Wow! Your blog is sounding like such a Campbell adventure. It seems that the food of the country is the MOST important aspect of the experience! Archie would have loved to read all of that.
Seriously, glad you are enjoying your time. Bangkok will be quite the adventure. The beaches on the islands are spectacular (so others say!!!)
