World change starts with educated children

A few people have asked for a bit more information about Room to Read and why we chose this particular charity.

It all started when my mother gave me a copy of ‘Leaving Microsoft to Change the World’, by John Wood.  This book was captivating and echoed similar sentiments that I experienced on my first trip to Nepal and subsequent travel and working in developing nations.  I vowed after reading the book that I would find a way to get involved with Room to Read.

Rather than try to explain what makes Room to Read so compelling, I’ve taken some information off of their site that I found useful.  You can click through the images below for a fact sheet Room to Read puts out and a video from Frontline outlining what Room to Read has done in Nepal.
