I founded 10Adventures to make it easy for regular people to plan their next adventure. We have built a community based on free, guidebook quality route guides and added a marketplace so you can book a tour directly with a local tour operator in over 40 countries.
I was elected to the Board of Directors of the ACC with a mandate to support the clubs efforts on Governance.
I was part of the team that grew this consulting company from 18 to over 425 people. Over my time there I added new lines of business, managed cost and schedule on projects up to $500 million and eventually became the COO. While I was the COO, Vista was named as one of Canada’s Best Managed companies while also being named one of Canada’s 50 Best employers for 5 straight years.
uSwitch.com is an innovative home services marketplace. I joined the team pre-product and quickly took over managing the development and launch of the core marketplaces, which eventually accounted for over 95% of total revneue. uSwitch sold in 2006 for $366 million.
I attended the innovative Program for Leadership Development (PLD) at HBS. PLD is Harvard’s answer to the EMBA, and has been designed with on and off-campus learning, and to fit into a busy executives schedule. In addition to PLD, I continued my education with electives focused on Governance, Strategy and Leadership.
I graduated from London Business School in 2010, with an M.Sc in Strategy and Leadership. I was also a Sloan Fellow, part of a program that is offered at LBS, MIT and Stanford. While at LBS, my studies focused on how to facilitate company growth, with a particular emphasis on Strategy and HR. I also attended an exchange at Columbia University in NYC, where I studied globalization under Nobel Prize winner Joe Stiglitz. My thesis was on Growth Strategies for Professional Services Firms, and I was supervised by Strategy Professor Jessica Spungin, a former parter at McKinsey & Co.
